Well, life has gotten in the way of doing things like crafting, but I think I’m getting back to it. This weekend I spent some time crafting and I have a few projects to share with you. I am going to post them one at a time, though, instead of all at once. Maybe it will make my blog seem more interesting for a week or so!
So, without any further ado….my first project.
I needed to create a “Congratulations” type card for a new baby. I really like doing A-2 cards. I know they’re standard size, and not very exciting, but I know I have enveloped that fit and I know I don’t have to check at the post office to see if there is any extra postage surcharge, so I tend to stick to that size!
The card base is A-2, so it’s cut at 5.5” x 8.5”. When you fold it you get 5.5” x 4.25”. For this project I used white cardstock from Staples. On top of that I have a pale yellow cardstock cut just slightly smaller than 5.5” x 4.25”. On top of that layer I have a print yellow paper that is cut at 5.25” x 4”.
The stroller image is from the Cricut cartridge “Stretch Your Imagination”. I used my Gypsy, so I’m not even sure what size it’s cut at. I used a white gel pen and a black pen to doodle on it a bit. I used a pop-dot type adhesive to make the stroller stand out a bit.
I used a stamp and black ink to stamp the sentiment. That left the entire inside for me to write my message.
And the final product is:
I hope you enjoy this little project! Take some time for yourself & do something crafty today!
